A Great First Day

Me waiting for my class on the 1st day of school! 

What a busy day this was! Things went amazingly well, although we didn't get to everything! The first day is vital in establishing climate and expectations, and I think I accomplished that. I will enjoy getting to know my students. We had our first D.E.A.R. time, I read Everybody Needs a Rock as we sit at the carpet together, and we managed to dismantle supply packs (somehow).

I also laid down the "40-Book Challenge". More details to come later. . .

All in all, a good day---though we stayed in for recess because of the heat!
