Our class enjoys a school holiday on Monday, October 11th. Officially, it is Columbus Day. We learned about Columbus sailing the "ocean blue in 1492" in first grade. But there is so much more to know. Many among him sought to explore the West, but what separated him was his persistence. For eight years, he continued to seek support for his voyage, both from the King of Portugal, and, of course, King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella of Spain.
What are your goals and plans? How persistent will you be in accomplishing them?
On Monday, Mrs. Alaniz hopes her students will enjoy time with their families, read, rest, play, and engage their brain by coming to this blog or her webpage for games, facts, and learning.
See you on Tuesday!
