We've Started Reading Next Year's Bluebonnets!

HAMSTER MAGIC by Lynn Jonell

This year's Bluebonnet winner has been announced, and we have celebrated! (Congratulations to Strange Case of Origami Yoda!)
But we have already started reading the nominees for next year's award.  Hamster Magic is one of them. Here are few more!

EllRay Jakes is Not A Chicken! by Sally Warner

Zita the Spacegirl by Ben Hatke

Just Being Audrey by Margaret Cardillo

Hot Diggity Dog: The History of the Hot Dog by Adrienne Sylver

Postcards from Camp by Simms Taback

We bring the books to school in our backpacks and share them during Reader's Workshop. Mrs. Alaniz is reading them, too. So far, she loves Zita the Spacegirl the most. There are more titles such as Wonderstruck by Brian Selznick and Like Pickle Juice on a Cookie by Julie Sternberg.  (Look for Mrs. Alaniz's review of Wonderstruck on the Book Notes page --- which can be found on the sidebar.)

What book do you want to read first?
