March 6, 1836: The Fall of the Alamo
Today in 4A we talked about March 6th.
On this day in 1836, the final part of the Battle of the Alamo happened before dawn.
Mexican soldiers came out from the darkness and headed for the Alamo. The Texans fought back with cannons and weapons. Mexicans climbed the walls and rushed inside.
By sunrise, the battle was over. The Texans were defeated. Santa Anna came into the Alamo to see how he defeated the Texans.
The Alamo defenders (including Bowie, Travis, and Crockett) gave their lives that day for Texas.
We will always "Remember the Alamo!"
In class we wrote poems about the Alamo and built replicas. Keep reading our blog to see our work!
