Picture Poetry

When Mrs. Alaniz traveled to California this past December, she took many pictures. California is very scenic. When she saw the southern coast and spotted some birds, Mrs. Alaniz made a stop. Here's one of the birds she saw!

This bird was alone, set apart from a group of about 10 similar birds.

Can you write a poem that goes perfectly with this picture?

Here's a hint about writing poetry: If you write a sentence, and break it up, it can sound like a poem. For example:

Brown-spotted and wings back,
the bird
perched by the water,
never
looking
up,
surrounded by
pebbles,
sand,
and
silence.

What poem would you write for this picture?

  2. I would write this:

    The bird
    Solo but proud,
    The bushes,
    Winding
    Through the land,
    Amd the sandy ground,
    Dry,
    But
    The bird
    Still looks beyond.
