CLASS BOOK REVIEW: BOY + BOT

Mrs. Alaniz read us this book in class today:

BOY + BOT by Amy Dyckman (illustrated by Dan Yaccarino)
Published April 10, 2012 by Random House Children's Books
Today we read author Ame Dyckman's newly published awesome book, BOY+BOT! It showed us an odd robotic but great friendship and also told us a lot about caring.

Here's what our class said about this wonderful book:

"I think this books is funny and good. The boy treated the robot like a brother, and they make a good family."

"There's no friend like a BOT."

"When the BOT turned off, the boy said "What's wrong?", so I think he really cared for the BOT."

"They care so much about one another and they're really good friends."

"It was funny because they gave each other the things THEY needed."

"I would feel badly if my friend shut down."

"It's cute how BOT tries to fix Boy and Boy was trying to cure BOT."

"I noticed that they like to play together because they are good, loving friends."

"This book was amazing! I like how they both care for each other. That shows that they are friends."

"I like that the last page doesn't have any text."

"The Boy and BOT are friends after they cared for each other."

"I love that the Boy took care of the robot even though he did not know him."

"My real question is this: What is your next book going to be about?"

"They have a big connection to each other even though they are very different."

"I think it may be next year's Caldecott winner."

Also, Ame Dyckman sent our class these nice gifts:

We were very happy to receive the bookmarks and stickers!! We know they are "exclusives"! One of our classmates said this: "These are like gold!"

Read this book as soon as you can! 4A really recommends it!

Sounds like a good book! Maybe you could make your own comic about what happens after the book ends. There is an app for Edmodo called Pixton Comic Creator where you make your own comics. It's really cool!
