Spine Poetry

Have you ever heard of Spine Poetry?
In 4A, we have been reading poems and sharing them with our class. Now, we're going to start sharing them with everyone else!
Mrs. Alaniz says that April is National Poetry Month. So we have started celebrating good poems. Today we started writing poems, but we wrote them with books.  Here's how:

We found book titles and stacked them in an order that would create a poem. Then we took a picture of the stack with our iPod Touches. Read the spines of the books and you're actually reading a poem! Here's one that a student created:

This is spine poetry.
That one is very clever.
Here's another one:

This one is kind of funny!

What do you think about spine poetry? Create one of your own spine poems today!
We'll share more throughout April (National Poetry Month)!
Aren't these fun?
