Our Classroom Culture

Our class has its own way of doing things: SO, we think we have our own classroom culture.
Today we reviewed these facts: a culture has food, language, celebrations, music, tools, shelter, special clothing,  and traditions.
We are all working as a class to find ways to explain our classroom culture.

We decided that our tools are pencils, Edmodo, Twitter, notebooks, our blog, and computers.

For language, we speak English (plus some of us speak other languages!), we use correct body language, and we even have signals we use in class to ask for stuff. We even have special phrases we say all together. (For example when someone makes a great comment in class, or when we read a really good line in a book we say: "THAT'S GOOD!" (But we say it in a certain way.)

Some of our traditions are that we check our blog counter every Wednesday, we line up in number order, and when we have a free minute we READ.

We are still trying to figure out stuff about our culture.

We think CUPCAKES are our special foods.

What do you know about cultures? What else should we think about?

  1. I'm glad your class has a culture of sharing! That way others (like me) can learn from you!

  2. I was happy to experience the positive classroom culture during my visit today. I love that your students explain the blogspot, Edmodo group and class Twitter feeds to visitors.
