Factors and Multiples

On Thursday, we learned about factors and multiples. Sometimes these words can be confusing!

If you are skip counting, a FACTOR is the number your are skip counting by (2s, 4s, 5s, 10s, etc.). The MULTIPLES are the numbers you land on while you are skip counting (like 5, 10, 15, 20).

In 4 X 5 = 20, the factors are 4 and 5. The multiple is 20.

4 and 5 are factors of 20 because their product is 20.

In 7 X 6= 42, the factors are 6 and 7. Why?

What is the multiple?

Here's a question for you: Is 4 a factor of 68?
