This week in class we read a non-fiction selection about two famous explorers, Meriweather Lewis and William Clark. They were sent by President Thomas Jefferson in 1804 to search the West. Their goal was to read the Pacific Ocean.
Along the way, they met Native Americans from many tribes. Their trip took two years.
What kind of challenges did they face? Why do you think Lewis and Clark were willing to face these difficulties?
